If you ever felt like Siri activated without you saying “Hey Siri”—and maybe even overheard private chats—you’re not imagining things. Apple has agreed to pay out $95 million in a class action lawsuit settlement over claims that Siri accidentally recorded users and shared the audio.
This settlement applies to anyone in the U.S. who used a Siri-enabled device (like an iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods, or HomePod) between Sept. 17, 2014, and Dec. 31, 2024.
📝 Here’s how to see if you qualify:
- If Apple contacts you by email or postcard, you’ll get a Claim ID and Confirmation Code. Head to the claims website, enter those codes, and follow the instructions.
- Didn’t get a notice? You can still file a claim manually. Just provide your contact info and device details like the serial number or proof of purchase for up to five Siri-enabled devices.
💵 You’ll choose how to get paid—either by direct deposit or electronic check.
🗓️ Deadline to file a claim is July 2, 2025.
After that, a court hearing on August 1, 2025, will decide if payouts get the green light.
